This took me about 2 hours over the course of a week, and I'm really proud of it.
This took me two hours, which is the longest amount of time I've spent on a digital painting so far.
I prefer this one to my first digital portrait painting. The skin is smoother and the proportions are better. I really like the ear.
After many failed attempts at digital art, I finally found a technique that works for me.
After an hour of taking photos with my freind, I decided this one was my favourite.
I've been getting quite good at sketching out a figure in baggy clothes with little to no scaffolding. I'm not too good at doing it without a reference image yet though.
This is an interesting concept that I got from Holly O'Meehan, who is a local artist. It includes crocheting something, and then dipping it into slip (watered down clay) and then firing and sometimes glazing it. It's interesting because of the unique texture created by the crochet, and also because the crochet is very heavy while it's drying, and once it's dried it's very lightweight, which makes it feel like the final work is defying gravity.
I made this by sculpting a random shape and adding frills, spikes and scratches to it. I really love it and was planning on entering it into an art competition. Unfortunately, when I took it home a family member got tomato sauce on it, so I'll have to pick a different one to enter.
A year after my first watercolour painting of a pink and grey galah, I decided to paint a better one. I then entered them both into an art competition as one peice. I didn't win though.
This is my second digital artwork that I'm proud of, I also made it as a backdrop for my first proper animation. I really love this one because it looks exactly like my reference photo.
This one took me about four hours, I spent forever on the mossy roots at the front. I really like all the different textured brushes I used. And all the colours match each other nicely.
I love the colours I used, but I hardly count it as my own artwork, as I simply re-painted a similar thing I found on Pinterest
I was more proud of this when I first made it, it took forever.
